APC Governors and Leaders Endorse Bola Tinubu for 2027
All Progressives Congress governors and party leadership unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term while condemning xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.
Eighteen first-term governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office during a meeting in Kebbi State. In a joint communiqué read by Governor Nasir Idris, the governors backed the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda beyond the 2027 elections to ensure policy continuity and economic stability. They defended the administration's current economic reforms as necessary for long-term recovery, though they urged the federal government to expand interventions to reduce hardships in food production and transportation.
The governors also condemned the abduction of schoolchildren and persistent insecurity within Nigeria, alongside xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other African nationals in South Africa. They called for transparent investigations and justice from South African authorities.
Simultaneously, APC Deputy National Chairman (South) Ben Nwoye met with G-37 former state chairmen of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria at the party's national headquarters in Abuja. Nwoye urged party members to prevent regrouping opposition forces from distracting the president and cited road construction in southern Nigeria as evidence of the administration's reform vision. Cletus Obum, leader of the G-37 group, expressed confidence that the party's structures would be strengthened and predicted the political decline of opposition parties.
