Brivael Le Pogam Warns US Voters Against French-Style Economics
French entrepreneur Brivael Le Pogam warned American voters that progressive Democratic policies mirror the state-led systems that caused economic stagnation and fiscal crisis in France.
French technology entrepreneur Brivael Le Pogam issued a public warning to American voters ahead of the midterms, arguing that the United States risks economic stagnation by adopting progressive policies similar to those in France. Le Pogam, the co-founder of AI video startup Argil, claimed that France's extensive welfare state—marked by public spending exceeding 57% of GDP—has resulted in collapsing hospitals, declining school rankings, and a national debt surpassing 3,300 billion euros.
Le Pogam characterized the promise of state-provided protection as a "Trojan horse" that erodes the middle class and exacerbates the problems it intends to solve. He urged Americans to preserve free markets and entrepreneurship, asserting that current U.S. issues stem from state intervention rather than market failure.
These warnings coincide with a fiscal crisis in France as the term of President Emmanuel Macron ends. Right-wing candidate Marine Le Pen is currently campaigning on a shadow budget designed to reduce the national deficit to 3.7% next year through spending cuts and reduced migrant spending, warning that current trajectories could lead to a default crisis.
