Truck Driver Borrows 3.5 Million Naira for Tinubu Campaign

Adeleye Adeniyi borrowed 3.5 million naira to fund the 2027 re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and two other Ekiti State politicians.

A mini-truck driver from Ado-Ekiti, Adeleye Adeniyi, borrowed 3.5 million naira to support the 2027 re-election campaigns of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.

In a video interview released October 9, 2026, Adeniyi presented a Wema Bank cardboard cheque detailing the allocation of funds. He designated 2 million naira for Tinubu, 1 million naira for Bamidele, and 500,000 naira for Fatoba. Adeniyi stated that the politicians' performance in office motivated the loan and pledged to campaign actively using a song titled "On your mandate, we shall stand."

This is not the first time Adeniyi has used credit for political purposes. In February 2026, he reportedly used an OPay loan to brand a vehicle in support of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
