Museum Updates Oval Office Replica to Match Trump Designs
The People's House museum overhauled its replica Oval Office to mirror President Donald Trump's second-term rococo design and extravagant White House renovations.
The People’s House: A White House Experience museum in Washington, D.C., has overhauled its replica Oval Office to mirror the second-term design choices of Donald Trump. The update replaces the previous Joe Biden-era design with a rococo style featuring 24 gilded portrait frames, gold-hued wall appliqués, and gleaming vases.
A team of 25 specialists from Canada, Virginia, California, Indianapolis, and North Carolina completed the project over one week using 3D scanning, printing, and hand-carving. To prevent wear from public visitors, the museum utilized a paint solution rather than the gold leaf used in the actual office.
These changes coincide with extensive renovations Trump has made to the actual White House. These projects include the construction of a $400 million ballroom following the demolition of the East Wing, the addition of towering flagpoles, and a Rose Garden patio modeled after his Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump has expressed a desire for his version of the Oval Office to become a federal landmark, describing it as a "beautiful room that nobody should be allowed to rip down."
