LG and NVIDIA Corporation Partner on Humanoid Robots and AI Factories

LG Corp. and NVIDIA Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding to develop bipedal humanoid robots, AI-defined vehicles, and large-scale AI factories.

LG Corp. and NVIDIA Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on August 13, 2026, to collaborate on robotics, AI factories, and mobility. The partnership focuses on integrating NVIDIA Corporation's compute and foundation models into LG's manufacturing and consumer hardware.

LG is developing a next-generation bipedal humanoid robot using the NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform and the Isaac GR00T foundation model, with a public unveiling planned for the first quarter of 2027. To validate these technologies, LG will deploy CLOiD wheel-based robots at an LG Electronics washing machine plant in Tennessee.

In the industrial sector, LG plans to establish an AI factory reference site by early 2027, followed by the construction of an 80 MW scale AI factory in Cheonan, South Korea, by the first half of 2028. The companies are also developing a high-performance computing platform for AI-defined vehicles using NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion to merge autonomous driving with in-cabin AI services.
