Saudi Foreign Minister Meets US Officials to Strengthen Security Ties
Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with top US officials in Washington to discuss regional security while Saudi Arabia condemned Israeli actions in Gaza.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan conducted high-level diplomatic meetings in Washington on September 29 and 30 to strengthen cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Prince Faisal met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to review the strategic bilateral relationship and discuss regional security, with a specific focus on the situation in Yemen.
During the visit, Prince Faisal also held talks with US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Tom Cotton, as well as Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker and ranking member Jack Reed. These discussions centered on defense and security coordination between the two nations.
Simultaneously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia addressed the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Represented by Dr. Salem Al-Qahtani, the ministry condemned Israeli settlement expansion and attacks on the Gaza Strip. Saudi Arabia reiterated its rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians and advocated for a two-state solution based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital.
