The administration is promoting the Carolina Principles, which seek to avoid new regulations that could allow China to win the AI race. To ensure strategic leadership, Trump announced the creation of an AI Force, modeled after the Space Force. These developments occur as the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on an AI bill and as the U.S. prepares for the G20 Leaders' Summit in Miami this December.

While Trump has characterized AI safety fears as a "hoax" and a "scam," some industry leaders and Democratic officials disagree. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries argued that the government must act responsibly to protect the public from safety risks and job losses.
