Nicki Minaj Urges Young Voters to Vote Red

Musician Nicki Minaj urged young Americans to research candidates and "vote red" during a September 26 interview on the Fox News program "My View with Lara Trump." Minaj encouraged citizens to participate in the November 3, 2026, midterm elections, emphasizing that their voices are necessary for the country and the world. She specifically called for engagement in local elections beyond presidential contests.

During the interview, Minaj praised President Donald Trump for his authenticity and the "candid, unedited vibe" he brings to the White House. She criticized the Democratic Party for its relationship with Black voters, asserting that Democrats do not allow Black people to "make a different decision" without facing smear campaigns and nasty behavior. Minaj argued that the party is "digging their own grave" by treating Black voters as though they cannot think for themselves.

President Trump has reciprocated the support, describing Minaj as a "fantastic person." Minaj currently serves as a celebrity judge for the Small Business Administration's Million Dollar Pitch Competition. The call to action drew some criticism because Minaj has previously stated she is not a U.S. citizen and is therefore ineligible to vote. While she mentioned in January 2026 that she was finalizing citizenship paperwork after receiving a Trump Gold Card, she has not publicly confirmed obtaining citizenship.
