BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Supporting Starlink to Oppose Modi

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya accused Rahul Gandhi of reversing his party's stance on Starlink's entry into India to politically target Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of reversing his party's position on Starlink's entry into India to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Surya alleged that while the Congress party previously opposed the satellite internet provider on grounds of cronyism and national security, Gandhi now supports Elon Musk's efforts to obtain an operational license.

Surya compared Gandhi's actions to the historical figure Jaichand, suggesting the Congress leader is siding with foreign interests for political gain. Former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar defended the government's licensing process, arguing that security clearances and trust verification are essential for satellite communication services given India's history of insurgency and terrorism. While Chandrasekhar praised the technology behind Starlink, he maintained that national interests must be prioritized during the licensing phase.
