BJP Holds Jal Manthan Workshop to Advance Water Security

The Bharatiya Janata Party conducted a two-day Jal Manthan workshop on September 3, 2026, at its headquarters in New Delhi to align water management strategies with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. The event brought together Jal Shakti and Water Resources ministers from BJP-governed states to focus on water conservation, sustainable development, and the implementation of Central government schemes.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin led the sessions, emphasizing a politics of performance and the need for governance to translate policy into tangible outcomes. The workshop followed a September 2 meeting at Nabin's residence regarding inter-state coordination and the sharing of best practices. Discussions centered on improving irrigation efficiency, accelerating project completion through cooperative federalism, and communicating policies to the grassroots level.

Union Minister C R Patil outlined four primary resolutions from the summit: completing water projects on time, establishing water conservation as a people's movement, securing rural drinking water sources, and ensuring reliable water services for every rural household. Following the training session, the ministers met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.
