Trump and Nicki Minaj Campaign for Mike Rogers in Michigan
President Donald Trump and rapper Nicki Minaj campaigned for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers in Port Huron, targeting Democratic opponent Abdul El-Sayed.
President Donald Trump held a campaign rally at McMorran Place Arena in Port Huron, Michigan, on October 25, to support Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers. The event took place nine days before the November 3 midterm elections in a closely watched race for an open Senate seat that could influence control of the U.S. Senate.
During the rally, Trump targeted Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed, claiming El-Sayed should not be allowed into the U.S. Capitol without passing through a metal detector due to alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Rapper Nicki Minaj appeared alongside the president, urging voters to provide Trump with a strong congressional team for his final two years in office and expressing her support for the Trump Accounts savings program.
In a separate interview with NBC, Mike Rogers criticized El-Sayed's alleged adherence to a radical Islamic agenda, though he denied calling his opponent a terrorist and avoided confirming if he considers himself a MAGA Republican. The Republican efforts followed a Saturday campaign event in Detroit where Democrats campaigned for El-Sayed.
