Trump-led Board of Peace Urges Gaza Ceasefire Commitments

The Board of Peace, a U.S.-led oversight body chaired by President Donald Trump, called on all parties in the Gaza conflict to fulfill their commitments and avoid undermining the ceasefire. In statements issued ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the board reaffirmed a roadmap agreed upon with Hamas on July 30. This framework seeks the demilitarization and deradicalization of Gaza, the establishment of a technocratic Palestinian governing body, and sustained humanitarian reconstruction.

On September 22, foreign ministers from Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates met in New York to demand that Israel fulfill first-phase commitments, specifically the delivery of humanitarian aid and infrastructure repair. The ministers praised Donald Trump's leadership and called for continued U.S. engagement to ensure the roadmap leads to Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of an International Stabilization Force.

Despite these diplomatic efforts, the Israel Defense Forces continued targeted strikes in the Gaza Strip, killing Hamas commanders Muhammad Suleiman Byouk in Khan Yunis and Nael Abu Obeid in Rafah. The military stated it will not withdraw from the territory until Hamas fully disarms.
