PepsiCo Commits $1 Billion Investment to Colombia
PepsiCo will invest $1 billion in Colombia over five years to expand production and modernize operations following a diplomatic push in New York.
Abelardo De La Espriella, the President of Colombia, announced on Sunday that PepsiCo will invest $1 billion in the country over the next five years. The investment aims to expand production, modernize operations, and strengthen distribution networks across the region.
De La Espriella stated that the commitment will boost employment and support more than 2,000 farmers and small shopkeepers. He noted that "confidence is demonstrated through investment."
The agreement follows a weeklong mission to New York led by Vice President José Manuel Restrepo and Colombia's economic team. During the visit, the delegation met with more than 100 corporate and capital markets investors to attract foreign capital to the country.
