Becton Dickinson to Invest $3 Billion in U.S. Manufacturing
President Donald Trump announced Becton Dickinson will invest $3 billion to expand domestic medical product manufacturing, with over $1 billion allocated to Nebraska.
Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Becton Dickinson and Co has agreed to invest $3 billion to expand the domestic manufacturing of essential medical products. The investment aligns with an administration effort to bring healthcare production onshore and is linked to medical-device tariffs expected by the end of the year.
More than $1 billion of the total investment is designated for Nebraska, where the company will increase the production of needles and syringes made with U.S. steel. This includes a $110 million investment to expand prefillable syringe production at a plant in Columbus, Nebraska, which is expected to create approximately 120 jobs. This new funding supplements a previous $35 million investment at the same facility.
