APC Officials Mock Atiku Abubakar's Seventh Presidential Bid

Presidential Adviser on Political Matters Ibrahim Kabiru Masari dismissed the 2027 presidential ambitions of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing the African Democratic Congress candidate as a "joker" whose desperation for power would prevent him from winning. Speaking in Dutse, Jigawa State, during a meeting of the Jigawa Academics Forum, Masari framed the upcoming election as a choice between the All Progressives Congress's infrastructure and security programs or a return to the opposition.

During the same event, over 2,000 academics passed a vote of confidence and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for second terms. Governor Namadi welcomed the endorsement, noting the alignment of his 12-Point Agenda with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and growth in the state's internally generated revenue.

Simultaneously, Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa Femi Fani-Kayode mocked Abubakar's history of failed campaigns. In a piece titled ‘The Seventh Bid of Waziri’, Fani-Kayode stated that Abubakar has spent 33 years attempting to secure the presidency, failing in six previous attempts since 1993 across multiple parties. Abubakar is currently the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 elections, with former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi serving as his running mate.
