Joe Kent Urges Trump Officials to Resign Over Iran War

Former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent urged members of the Trump administration who oppose the war in Iran to publicly resign and speak out. In a post on X, Kent argued that officials who quietly oppose the conflict will be forgotten if they only whisper to the media.

Kent, who resigned from the administration earlier this year due to the conflict, claimed the United States entered the war because of lobbying from Israel. He accused neoconservatives of encouraging the war to destroy the MAGA movement, comparing them to those who lied about the Iraq war.

Additionally, Kent targeted Marc Thiessen, a speechwriter for former President George Bush. Kent accused Thiessen of attacking allies who warned Donald Trump that the war would be a disaster, alleging that Thiessen intended to keep the president in a state of siege.
