Trump Media Launches Truth API for High-Frequency Traders

Trump Media and Technology Group launched a paid API service giving institutional investors early access to Donald Trump's social media posts for a monthly fee.

The Trump Media and Technology Group launched Truth API on August 1, 2026, a subscription service providing institutional investors and high-frequency traders with real-time access to social media posts from President Donald Trump and other high-ranking contributors. The service costs up to $100,000 per month, offering a speed advantage to traders acting on market-moving policy announcements regarding tariffs and international conflicts before retail investors can react.

Interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated the service is designed to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin revenue stream. The launch follows a 75% drop in the parent company's stock and hundreds of millions in losses. Company spokeswoman Shannon Devine defended the legality of the API, arguing that critics have invented a new theory of insider trading based on publicly available information.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff formally requested that the Securities and Exchange Commission investigate the service. They characterized the API as an abuse of the presidency for personal gain that undermines everyday investors to enrich Wall Street insiders. The senators argue the monetization of non-public information may violate the 2012 Stock Act and federal securities laws. The Securities and Exchange Commission has declined to comment on the request.
