The Government of Canada is holding a hybrid technical briefing on October 1, 2026, to provide updates on the West Coast Oil Pipeline process. The session, hosted at the National Press Theatre in Ottawa, is restricted to accredited members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery.
Treasury Board officials are leading the briefing to provide background information. The proceedings and associated materials are under embargo, with participants prohibited from recording the session for broadcast or disclosing information until the embargo is lifted.
Prime Minister Mark Carney will lead a subsequent press conference to formally address the pipeline process. The Privy Council Office is managing the distribution of the embargoed materials through its Media Relations office.
