House Democrats Plan Mass Impeachments and Investigations of Trump
House Democrats are preparing a wide-scale campaign of impeachments and investigations targeting President Donald Trump and several cabinet members ahead of a projected Democratic majority.
House Democrats are organizing an extensive campaign of impeachments and investigations targeting Donald Trump and his administration in anticipation of a Democratic majority in the House. Multiple representatives have already filed resolutions of impeachment against the president, including Al Green, who filed three resolutions, and Steve Cohen and John Larson, who introduced 26 and 13 articles of impeachment respectively, citing offenses related to deportations and foreign force.
Beyond the presidency, Democrats have filed resolutions to impeach several cabinet members, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and budget director Russ Vought. Representative Jamie Raskin has also introduced a bill to establish a 17-member Commission on Presidential Capacity to evaluate if the president is unable to discharge his duties under the 25th Amendment.
Eleven House committees are preparing investigations into 26 separate topics, including the DOGE initiative, the Trump family business, and the conduct of FBI Director Kash Patel. Democratic leadership plans to utilize subpoenas, lawsuits, and budgetary controls to pressure the administration, though they expect President Trump to veto resulting legislation.
