APC Leaders Urge Unity Amid Ondo State Primary Disputes

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State are calling for reconciliation following internal conflict over the party's primary elections. The dispute intensified after the APC National Working Committee overruled Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa regarding the selection of National Assembly candidates, sparking protests from party members.

Former commissioner Razaq Obe warned that the alienation of party members could create a cascading effect that might jeopardize President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid within the state. However, party chieftains Olusola Oke and Kola Ademujimi dismissed these concerns, arguing that the National Working Committee's decisions uphold party supremacy.

Oke and Ademujimi maintain that President Tinubu's federal appointments and infrastructure projects in Ondo State ensure his popularity. They assert that these factors will lead to a landslide victory for the president in 2027 despite the current internal disunity.
