Ukraine and India Discuss Black Sea Security and Food Exports

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a phone call with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday to address the security crisis in the Black Sea. Sybiha briefed Jaishankar on intensified Russian strikes against Ukrainian ports and maritime routes, arguing that these actions undermine freedom of navigation and threaten global food security by disrupting food exports.

During the conversation, the two ministers explored measures to secure the Black Sea and discussed ways to advance bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and India. Sybiha reaffirmed Kyiv's commitment to a lasting peace and encouraged India to take an active role in peace efforts.

The ministers also discussed the conflict's impact on global energy markets and reviewed the outcomes of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's previous visit to Washington, D.C.
