BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Manhandling Pregnant Journalist
The Bharatiya Janata Party and journalist Richa Parashar accuse Rahul Gandhi of pushing the pregnant reporter during a protest march in New Delhi.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and journalist Richa Parashar have accused Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, of manhandling a pregnant reporter during an INDIA bloc march toward the Supreme Court in New Delhi on October 12.
Parashar, an employee of Oneindia who is three months pregnant, alleged that Gandhi grabbed her by the shoulder and shoved her to the ground while she attempted to get a soundbite. She stated the incident caused her to fall down stairs, resulting in injuries to her arms and knees. Parashar further claimed that Congress supporters abused her instead of providing assistance.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari and Delhi State Vice President Rajesh Bhatia condemned the incident, with Bhandari describing Gandhi's behavior as that of a goon. BJP leaders visited Parashar in the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
Congress leaders dismissed the allegations as BJP propaganda. MP Jebi Mather asserted that the BJP is scripting narratives to distract from other political arguments, while leader Alka Lamba questioned the timeline of the hospital visit and the medical necessity of an X-ray during pregnancy.
