APC Chieftain Slams 2027 Presidential Candidates Over Fuel Promises

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye criticized presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for making unrealistic promises to restore fuel subsidies ahead of the 2027 elections.

APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye criticized presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for making unrealistic campaign promises ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye argued that restoring fuel subsidies is practically impossible because government operations and salaries have already adjusted to a subsidy-free environment.

Oyintiloye warned that such promises are a recipe for public chaos and specifically questioned the feasibility of Donald Duke's pledge to peg petrol prices at N300 per litre. He urged opposition candidates to be truthful and stop deceiving the public, calling on them to support federal efforts to reposition the economy instead of offering deceptive alternatives.

While defending the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu, Oyintiloye called on state governors to maintain accountability. He urged them to utilize increased Federation Account Allocation Committee revenues to improve healthcare and infrastructure across the country.
