Trump Considers Escalating Military Operations Against Iran

President Donald Trump is considering intensifying military operations against Iran as a conflict entering its fifth month shows no clear end. The U.S. Central Command recently completed thirteen consecutive nights of airstrikes targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to protect commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz. These operations followed Houthi rebel attacks on Saudi oil tankers, which Trump attributed to Iranian proxy support.

U.S. missile strikes caused casualties in Ahvaz and damaged naval facilities in Gilan province. In response, Iranian forces targeted U.S. military positions in Kuwait, Jordan, and a Fifth Fleet surveillance installation in Bahrain.

Internally, Trump has reportedly abandoned diplomacy in favor of military force, stating that Iranian leadership has not yet received "enough pain." While adviser Jared Kushner continues to pursue a diplomatic solution, Trump has expressed deep frustration with Tehran.
