Adams Oshiomhole Links Naira Redesign to Peter Obi's Lagos Victory

Senator Adams Oshiomhole stated in a TVC interview on Monday that the redesign of the naira note caused Peter Obi to defeat President Bola Tinubu in Lagos during the 2023 general elections. Oshiomhole attributed the result to widespread public anger over the currency change initiated by former President Muhammadu Buhari and executed by former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele.

Oshiomhole argued that the redesign choked and suffocated the system, which left citizens unable to access their funds from banks and ATMs. He claimed this frustration led voters to reject the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, thereby producing the victory for Peter Obi.
