APC Leaders Mobilize Northern Nigeria for Tinubu 2027 Bid

All Progressives Congress leaders urged Northern Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid during campaign events in Kaduna.

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) launched a mobilization effort in Kaduna to secure Northern Nigerian support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. During the flag-off of the presidential campaign rally, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume urged the region to remain united and support Tinubu to complete his political project, suggesting the North wait until 2031 to pursue the presidency.

APC chieftain Saidu Adamu argued that the North owes the president support as payback for his loyalty to former President Muhammadu Buhari. Adamu cited the removal of fuel subsidies and federal infrastructure projects, including the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, as evidence of the administration's commitment to the region.

Simultaneously, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru called on former presiding officers of State Houses of Assembly to mobilize grassroots support. Basiru defended the administration's economic reforms, including the shift to a market-driven foreign exchange regime, claiming these policies increased the fiscal capacity of state governments to fund salaries and pensions. Basiru also criticized former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, questioning the credibility of his economic proposals based on his previous record in government.
