Rahul Gandhi to Launch Punjab Election Campaign in Sangrur

Rahul Gandhi will launch the Indian National Congress campaign for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections on November 4 at a rally in Sangrur.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit the Sangrur district of Punjab on November 4 to launch the Indian National Congress campaign for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. The launch will take place at a 'Hisab Maango' rally in the Malwa region, which party leaders describe as a critical political heartland.

Under the banner of 'Mission 2027,' the campaign targets the Bhagwant Mann-led government, specifically criticizing the state's law and order situation and the prevalence of the drug mafia. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Pargat Singh stated the strategy focuses on grassroots engagement and addressing youth employment and farmers' issues to provide fresh momentum to the party.

All India Congress Committee general secretary K C Venugopal and party in-charge for Punjab Sachin Pilot announced the event, asserting that the party is confident in its ability to form the next government. During his arrival in Chandigarh for leadership meetings, Venugopal also defended Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge against allegations of personal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming Kharge's remarks targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as an ideological entity.
