Cleric Warns APC Will Collapse If Tinubu-Shettima Repeat 2027 Ticket

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, issued a stark warning that the All Progressives Congress would collapse if President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima run together again in the 2027 presidential election. In a statement released through his media aide Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele characterized a repeat Muslim-Muslim ticket as political suicide that would face rejection both nationally and internationally.

Ayodele asserted that the current administration has been an error since its inception because of the faith-based ticket, claiming that God does not support the government. He framed the situation as a double bind for Tinubu: while a joint ticket with Shettima would be destructive for the party, dropping Shettima as a running mate would also create a significant political dilemma and carry heavy costs for the president. The warning adds religious and prophetic pressure to an already contentious debate within the APC about its 2027 electoral strategy and the viability of repeating the same faith-composition ticket that proved controversial in 2023.
