Elon Musk Renames SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI Following Trump Order
Elon Musk renamed SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI after President Donald Trump issued an executive order replacing AI terminology with Super Intelligence across the federal government.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order on October 4, 2026, mandating that the executive branch replace the terms artificial intelligence and AI with Super Intelligence and SI in all official communications. Trump characterized super intelligence as a technology with a potential impact exceeding that of the internet and the Industrial Revolution.
Following the order, Elon Musk announced that SpaceXAI, the developer of the Grok chatbot, will be renamed SpaceXSI. Musk endorsed the terminology shift on X, stating that "SI It’s better." While the company is rebranding, Musk has not announced any changes to the actual technology or services provided by Grok.
Simultaneously, the U.S. government announced the creation of a federal Super Intelligence Force. This new body will coordinate the government's approach to the technology and oversee engagement with public-interest groups and technology companies.
