BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Spreading Lies About Election Commission
Sambit Patra accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party of attempting to create anarchy and misleading the public regarding Election Commission of India procedures.
Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Sambit Patra accused the Indian National Congress and the INDIA bloc of attempting to create anarchy and undermine constitutional institutions to facilitate the political rise of Rahul Gandhi. Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Patra alleged that the opposition is orchestrating a sponsored attempt to dismantle democratic norms to bring Gandhi into power.
These accusations preceded a planned protest march by opposition MPs to the Election Commission of India. Patra specifically claimed that Rahul Gandhi misled the public concerning a Supreme Court hearing on a Public Interest Litigation regarding Form 6. He asserted that Gandhi falsely claimed the form was illegal and that the Election Commission's decisions were not unanimous.
To counter these claims, Patra cited court orders and Election Commission fact-checks. He argued that the commission's decisions, including those regarding SIR in Bihar, were unanimous and have been upheld by the judiciary.
