India Advances Defense Ties With UAE and Saudi Arabia

India held high-level meetings with officials from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to expand military cooperation and defense technology exports.

The Government of India advanced its strategic defense objectives in West Asia through a series of high-level diplomatic engagements with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on June 24 and 25, 2026.

In New Delhi, Indian and UAE officials reviewed the Strategic Defence Partnership Framework. Discussions focused on the UAE's potential acquisition of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and the Akashteer air defense command-and-control network. This interest stems from regional security challenges and aligns with India's Make in India initiative to increase defense exports.

Simultaneously, Indian diplomats in Saudi Arabia held meetings to strengthen bilateral ties and defense collaboration. Ambassador Suhel Ajaz Khan met with the Saudi Ministry of Defence to explore new cooperation areas, while Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri addressed diaspora issues and mutual interests in Madinah. These talks follow a high-level visit in April by Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss regional security and energy cooperation.
