Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday to coordinate flood recovery efforts and discuss the state's development agenda. During the meeting at Sewa Teerth in South Block, Sarma presented a roadmap for the next phase of the Assam flood response, focusing on rebuilding affected areas and restoring livelihoods.
Prime Minister Modi reviewed the situation and reaffirmed the Government of India's unwavering support for the rehabilitation and reconstruction missions. Sarma noted that the Prime Minister remained in constant touch throughout the response efforts to extend assistance.
Beyond disaster recovery, Sarma briefed the Prime Minister on key initiatives implemented during the first 100 days of his second term in office. The leaders discussed broader priorities to accelerate growth, strengthen infrastructure, and improve public service delivery to achieve the vision of a "Viksit Assam."
