Ukraine Reports Critical Russian S-300 Missile Shortages

Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russia is facing unsustainable shortages of S-300 interceptors due to offensive repurposing and high-volume drone attacks.

Ukrainian intelligence officials report that the Federal Government of Russia is facing a critical shortage of S-300 missile interceptors. This depletion is attributed to Russia repurposing defensive S-300 missiles for offensive surface-to-surface strikes and Ukraine's strategy of launching high-volume, jet-engined drone volleys to force the expenditure of remaining stocks.

Russia struggles to replenish these interceptors as sanctions hinder the acquisition of essential guidance seekers and control modules from Western and Chinese manufacturers. While Russia has shifted priority toward newer systems like the S-400, Ukraine continues to execute deep strikes, including a recent attack on an oil refinery in the Moscow region.

Conversely, Ukraine reports its own shortage of American PAC-3 interceptors. This deficit comes as Russia potentially increases its ballistic missile production to 800 units per year, intensifying the pressure on Ukrainian air defenses.
