Bombardier Invests $270 Million to Expand U.S. Infrastructure
Bombardier is investing $270 million to expand its United States infrastructure and hire 800 workers following a shift in tone from the Trump administration.
Bombardier announced a $270 million investment to expand its infrastructure in the United States and hire 800 American workers. The expansion includes a new 64,500-square-foot service facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, opening in November, and a learning center in Wichita, Kansas. Additional projects are planned for Dallas, Texas, and Connecticut.
The investment follows a period of trade tension with the Trump administration. President Donald Trump previously criticized the Montreal-based manufacturer on Truth Social, claiming the company treated the U.S. as a piggybank and stating its products were not good enough. Trump later shifted his position, claiming he would help the company after learning more about its domestic operations.
Bombardier reported that its U.S. operations supported between 27,200 and 33,000 jobs in 2025, with $2.8 billion spent across its American supply chain. The company attributed the current expansion to constructive conversations with the U.S. administration.
