CrowdJustice Blocks Palestine Action Fundraiser Due to US Sanctions

CrowdJustice blocked a legal fundraiser for Palestine Action after US payment processor Stripe cited sanctions imposed by Donald Trump.

CrowdJustice, a UK-based crowdfunding platform, blocked a fundraiser intended to cover legal fees for Palestine Action as the group prepares for a UK Supreme Court hearing in November. The block resulted from the platform's reliance on Stripe, a US-based payment processor that stated it cannot support transactions linked to the group due to US sanctions.

These sanctions were imposed last month by Donald Trump using powers established in 2001. The financial restrictions follow the US designation of Palestine Action as a global terrorist organization, which also led to the removal of a fundraiser for former diplomat Craig Murray.

The legal dispute stems from a June 2025 decision by then-Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to ban the group. Although the High Court initially ruled the ban unlawful, the Court of Appeal overturned that decision. Huda Ammori, a co-founder of Palestine Action, argued that the US and British governments are creating obstacles to prevent the group from legally fighting the "draconian ban."
