President Donald Trump and his advisers have launched an aggressive October campaign schedule to counter declining Republican prospects for the midterm elections. Facing record-low approval ratings and a growing divide with GOP candidates over the economy, immigration, and the war with Iran, the administration is shifting its strategy to prioritize base turnout over swing voters.
Trump and Vice President JD Vance plan to campaign almost daily throughout October, targeting battleground states including Florida, Texas, Michigan, and Ohio. To support these efforts, the Senate Leadership Fund has increased spending in Texas to 100 million dollars for candidate Ken Paxton. The campaign is also employing a massive data operation to coordinate travel and is ranking Cabinet officials based on their level of campaign involvement to incentivize participation in swing districts.
Internal concerns remain that Trump's high-profile presence may inadvertently increase Democratic turnout. Despite these risks, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle defended the strategy, stating that Trump is the unequivocal leader and unmatched motivator for the Republican Party.
