Donald Trump Denies Russia and China Aid Iran

President Donald Trump stated that Russia and China are not providing significant assistance to Iran during the ongoing conflict with the United States.

President Donald Trump stated on October 12 that he does not believe China and Russia are providing assistance to Iran in the ongoing conflict. Writing on Truth Social, Trump argued that Moscow and Beijing have "too much to lose" to enable Tehran, suggesting that any support would be at a "very low level" and quickly detected by the United States.

This assessment follows a period of war between the United States and Iran that began on February 28, triggered by US and Israeli attacks on Iran and subsequent Iranian strikes on Israel and Gulf states. While Trump characterized Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin as neutral, the claim contrasts with reports that China supplied Iran with air-defence missile launchers and helped Tehran evade oil sanctions.

Beijing has previously condemned US attacks on Iran as violations of sovereignty. Meanwhile, Moscow has warned that the conflict could spark a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.
