Intel Corp. Offers $15 Billion in Stock for AI Growth

Intel Corp. is offering $15 billion in common stock to expand its data center components and AI-related technologies.

Intel Corp. announced on Monday that it will offer $15 billion in common stock to capitalize on the artificial intelligence boom and rising demand for data center components. The company plans to use the capital for general corporate purposes, specifically targeting growth in physical AI, purpose-built silicon, advanced packaging, and external wafers.

This financial move follows a period of significant market recovery for the company, with shares nearly tripling this year to reach $101.65. Although Intel does not lead the market in AI-specific chips, its data center segment reported a 59% sales increase last quarter, a rate that exceeded the company's overall revenue growth.

Intel intends to use the stock offering to fund these expansion opportunities while maintaining a strong balance sheet and preserving its investment-grade credit rating.
