Groups Pledge Millions of Votes for Tinubu 2027 Bid

Multiple political and civic groups announced mobilization efforts to secure a second term for Bola Ahmed Tinubu on September 26. In Abuja, the Forum of Chief Executive Officers of Federal Parastatals appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume as its patron and pledged to mobilize 10 million votes for the president through lawful engagement.

In Osun State, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Accord Party candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, stated that the president is on track to secure over one million votes. Olajengbesi attributed this projection to political reconciliation in the state and the commitment of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who reiterated his support for the re-election bid following his own victory in the August governorship election.

Further support came from the Government Secondary School Otukpo Old Boys Association, which comprises over 10,000 members. The association aligned its position with alumnus George Akume, declaring its intent to support the president to ensure the completion of current government initiatives. While these endorsements grew, some members of the All Progressives Congress suggested the party conduct an internal inquiry into its recent governorship loss in Osun State to avoid further setbacks in the Southwest region.
