AI Leaders Warn of Catastrophic Events Amid Political Donations
AI executives warn of imminent large-scale cyberattacks and recursive self-improvement while donating millions to President Donald Trump's administration.
Leaders of major artificial intelligence companies are privately preparing for a catastrophic AI-caused event, such as a large-scale cyberattack on financial systems or infrastructure, which insiders believe could occur within six to 12 months.
Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, warned at a conference in Dublin that recent hacking incidents are precursors to more serious threats arriving in 2027 and beyond. Similarly, Anthropic cofounder Jack Clark predicted that recursive self-improvement, where AI evolves beyond human control, will likely arrive by 2027.
Despite these warnings, tech giants including Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Palantir, and Meta have provided millions of dollars in donations to President Donald Trump. Specific contributions include $25 million from Nvidia, $22 million from Google, and $10 million from Microsoft. These financial ties have raised concerns regarding the influence of AI money on the current lack of government oversight and regulatory intervention.
