Elon Musk and Nvidia Partner with Saudi Arabia's Humain
Elon Musk's xAI and Nvidia partnered with Saudi state-backed firm Humain to build a 500-megawatt data center and expand AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
The xAI company, led by Elon Musk, and Nvidia announced a partnership with Humain, a Saudi Arabian state-backed AI firm, to construct a 500-megawatt data center in Saudi Arabia. This facility will serve as xAI's largest site outside the United States and will support the deployment of the Grok chatbot throughout the kingdom.
The announcement coincided with a visit to Washington, D.C., by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During this visit, the U.S. government indicated it would lift export restrictions on American AI semiconductors, enabling Humain to pursue a goal of acquiring 400,000 chips by 2030.
In a separate but related development, California-based Luma AI secured $900 million in Series C funding led by Humain. These funds are designated for Project Halo, a 2-gigawatt supercluster facility to be built in Saudi Arabia. These combined initiatives support Saudi Arabia's strategic goal to diversify its economy beyond oil and secure a 6% share of global AI processing.
