Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Urges Stricter AI Testing Protocols

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called for artificial intelligence companies to adopt more rigorous testing and security protocols before releasing products to the public. Speaking on the transition from laboratory research to product development, Huang emphasized that companies must hold back technology that is not ready for use, comparing the process to the engineering standards used for airplane engines and cars.

Huang advocated for a return to core engineering and internal responsibility within the industry. While emphasizing that companies should manage their own safety testing, he stated that governments should be involved because of the impactful nature of the technology.

Regarding regulation, Huang suggested that regulators should focus on the specific products powered by AI rather than the technology itself. He argued that new laws should only be added to existing frameworks when necessary.
