Jet2 Reports Summer Booking Surge After US-Iran Peace Deal

Jet2 reported a 7% increase in summer holiday bookings and a pre-tax profit of £551 million following a peace agreement between the US and Iran.

Jet2 reported a 7% increase in summer holiday bookings compared to the previous year, with the strongest rebounds occurring in Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, North Africa, and the eastern Greek islands. The surge follows a peace deal signed last month between US President Donald Trump and Iran, which stabilized oil prices and reduced the geopolitical uncertainty that had previously led travelers to book closer to departure dates.

In its full-year financial results ending in March, the company reported a pre-tax profit of £551 million. This represents a 7% decrease from the £593 million earned the prior year, although the airline achieved a record 20.8 million annual passengers. The company previously projected an operating profit between £435 million and £440 million for the period.

Chief Executive Steve Heapy attributed the current momentum to improved customer confidence. Despite previous industry disruptions caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and constrained fuel supplies, Jet2 maintained its normal summer flying schedule without introducing cost surcharges. The airline also expanded its operations with a new base at London Gatwick airport, where performance has exceeded initial expectations, leading to plans for further expansion in summer 2027.
