Time excluded Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang from its 2026 list of the 100 most influential people in AI. The omission marks a shift for Huang, who appeared on the list in 2023, 2024, and 2025, despite Nvidia continuing to serve as a primary supplier of the GPUs required to train and run advanced AI systems.

The publication clarified that the annual list is designed to recognize individuals who "best represent the year’s key storylines" and shape the growth of the field, rather than acting as a metric for business success.

The 2026 list retains other prominent industry leaders, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. The selection also features figures from entertainment and politics, such as US Senator Bernie Sanders.
