FBI Surges 260 Analysts to Probe 2020 Georgia Election
The FBI is deploying 260 analysts to Atlanta to investigate 2020 election irregularities in Fulton County following the seizure of hundreds of ballot boxes.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is surging 260 investigative analysts and staff operations specialists from field offices nationwide to Atlanta to support a designated priority investigation into the 2020 presidential election in Fulton County, Georgia. Directed by FBI Director Kash Patel, the operation requires each staff member to review approximately 708 records by July 17, searching for derogatory information, associations, and business activities to build a case.
This surge follows a January raid on a Fulton County election warehouse where agents, accompanied by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, seized between 600 and 700 boxes of materials, including original ballots and voter rolls. The criminal probe was reinvigorated in January following a referral from Justice Department official Kurt Olsen. The United States Department of Justice has utilized a grand jury to demand details about thousands of election workers, stating it is investigating irregularities in the county.
The federal push aligns with President Donald Trump's ongoing assertions that the 2020 election was rigged, despite three separate counts of the votes—including one by hand—affirming Joe Biden's victory. The investigation occurs as Trump seeks to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility America Act and prepares for the 2026 midterm elections. Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff has criticized the operation, characterizing the use of federal power as a tool for personal gain.
