U.S. Warns Allies of Potential Renewed Strikes Against Iran

The United States government warned regional allies to prepare for potential military operations against Iran following the November 3 midterm elections.

The United States government has warned regional allies to prepare for potential renewed military operations against Iran following the November 3 midterm elections. President Donald Trump has not yet reached a final decision on whether to authorize additional strikes.

Previous military attacks conducted in 2025 and 2026 caused substantial damage to Iranian nuclear facilities. Despite these actions, International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi reported to the UN Security Council on October 27 that the agency still lacks the access and information required to verify approximately 440 kilograms of previously declared highly enriched uranium.

Iran has indicated through mediators that it remains open to discussions, though substantial differences persist between the two nations. Critics of renewed military action argue that further strikes may not resolve the nuclear verification problem and could instead lead to prolonged conflict or the failure of critical civilian infrastructure, specifically the Iranian power grid.
