Marine Le Pen Launches Presidential Campaign with Nationalist Platform
Marine Le Pen launched her French presidential campaign in Orleans, pledging to restore law and order, restrict immigration, and resume domestic oil prospecting.
Presidential candidate Marine Le Pen officially launched her fourth campaign for the French presidency on October 25, 2026, during the 19th Congress of the National Rally in Orleans. Speaking to approximately 8,500 supporters, Le Pen positioned herself as the frontrunner to succeed President Emmanuel Macron, who is constitutionally barred from seeking a third term.
Le Pen's platform emphasizes a national renaissance centered on law and order, restrictive immigration policies, and the establishment of double borders at both the French and European levels. She vowed to restore the rule of law following weeks of national unrest that saw over 400,000 protesters and 1,300 arrests. To address economic concerns, she proposed capping energy bills, cutting taxes, and reducing France's annual European Union contribution by 11 billion euros. Notably, she pledged to abolish the 2017 law banning hydrocarbon exploration to resume oil prospecting within France.
National Rally deputy Jordan Bardella also spoke at the event, positioning himself as the prospective head of government. Bardella called for a crackdown on the ultra-left and proposed lowering the age of criminal responsibility to 16. The campaign launch took place under heavy security, with 3,000 police officers deployed to manage counter-protesters in Orleans.
