APC Mobilizes Rivers State and Southwest for Tinubu Re-election

The All Progressives Congress is unifying Southwest stakeholders and organizing a major Rivers State rally to secure President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election.

The All Progressives Congress is executing a dual-track strategy to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election through regional unification in the Southwest and large-scale mobilization in Rivers State.

In Ikeja, Lagos, party leaders from the six Southwest states met to resolve internal disputes and align political interests. Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko announced that stakeholders agreed to bury intra-party grievances to support the president. Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola urged party members to reconcile with marginalized colleagues and focus on mobilizing first-time voters. To broaden appeal, the party intends to communicate economic reforms in local languages.

Simultaneously, the party scheduled a presidential campaign rally for November 7, 2026, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Organizers are leveraging federal investments in Rivers State to drive turnout, citing the Bodo-Bonny Road and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and party chieftain Princewill Dike highlighted that the state has secured at least 49 federal appointments, including roles in the NDDC and RMAFC, as evidence of federal goodwill.
