Mike Rogers Aligns With Trump on Election Skepticism

Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers has shifted his stance to align with Donald Trump, claiming voting irregularities impacted his 2024 Michigan Senate bid.

Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers has transitioned from a critic of Donald Trump to an election skeptic, claiming that voting irregularities in Detroit affected his 2024 Senate campaign. A former FBI special agent and House Intelligence Committee chairman, Rogers previously denounced the events of January 6 and Trump's efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. He has since aligned with the MAGA platform after building a rapport with the president and receiving his endorsement.

Rogers is currently running for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Gary Peters against Democratic nominee Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. He now suggests that the 2020 election warrants further scrutiny and has pledged to support nationwide voter identification and proof of citizenship requirements if elected to the Senate.

Campaign spokeswoman Alyssa Brouillet defended the candidate's comments, stating the shift is focused on protecting the integrity of free and fair elections. This pivot marks a significant departure from Rogers' previous institutional role as a federal investigator and lawmaker.
