NVIDIA Launches Massive Global AI Infrastructure and Financing Push

NVIDIA Corporation is transitioning from a hardware supplier to a global infrastructure architect through a series of multi-billion dollar investments and financing guarantees. In the United States, the company is negotiating a $250 billion financing guarantee for OpenAI to lease a 10-gigawatt data center project in southern Ohio, developed by a SoftBank energy subsidiary and potentially costing over $500 billion.

In South Korea, NVIDIA is executing a broad strategy to establish an AI innovation hub. This includes a $500 billion-plus partnership with SK Group to build AI factories and secure next-generation HBM memory, featuring a 2-gigawatt AI Cloud slated for 2027. Additionally, NVIDIA is investing $1 billion in Naver Corp via the acquisition of 7.2 million shares to expand the GAK AI data center in Sejong. This specific project, supported by up to $9 billion from Brookfield, will utilize Vera Rubin and Blackwell chip platforms to reach 200 megawatts by 2028.

Further diversifying its footprint, NVIDIA took a 9.3% stake in Nebius Group through a $2 billion investment to support the deployment of 5 gigawatts of systems by 2030. These initiatives reflect a strategic push by NVIDIA to facilitate sovereign AI capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and the Middle East.
